Brittle Poppies

Now that I’m home from college, my camera’s been placed in a semi-retirement. Not that there isn’t anything to take photos of, goodness knows, but I find more pleasure in portraiture than in still life-based photography. Why? Who knows.

Anyway, these are a bunch of dried up poppies, which have very twisty stems.

hello!

I’m testing out the interface… It reminds me a lot of Greymatter, except fancier!

I also wanted to share with my fellow photobloggers a program called Irfanview. It’s a great little program originally meant to be a photo preview program (much like Windows Picture Viewer) but my favorite use for it is batch resizing. It can also easily convert files of one type to another. If you’ve ever talked to me about the graphics, you’d know that PNG is my preferred method of compression, so by using Irfanview, I can very easily resize a whole folder of large JPG images into smaller but still high quality PNG files. :)

Photos taken April 7th, outside Mellon Arena, after a Penguins game. It was cold & snowing but I couldn’t have cared less because the Penguins beat the Rangers. :)
